Chargewood answers chargebacks for you. When a shopper disputes a card payment, the bank sets a deadline and a list of evidence it will accept, and most of that evidence is already in the store: what was ordered, when it shipped, where it went, what the customer bought before. Connecting your store gives Chargewood read-only access to that order history. Orders, their transactions and their fulfilments sync across, and each one is matched to a dispute through the payment provider's own transaction id. The connection never writes to your site and never changes an order. A chargeback reaches an app here as a read-only ledger line, with no reason code and no way to respond through it, so disputes still have to reach Chargewood through Stripe or PayPal; this connection supplies the order evidence that goes into the answer. Every response is reviewed by a person before it is filed.
